Edited 2 years agoI'm a giant Queen fan, and I've always loved this set, got it on vinyl a few years ago (on a not so audiophile system) and after listening to this with a much better system...and honestly this is a disappointing set. The presentation is good, I like the sleeves for each disc but the mix on the November show is pretty bad. The bass is boosted where it sounds super boomy to the point where Johns's bass and Roger's kick drum and lower toms sound super muddy and you can't tell the differences between which is which. The March show is a bit better though. Oh my God the vocal processing on some of these songs is just laughably horrendous. "Fairy Feller's Master Stroke" is the absolute worst offender here, they shift his voice to a note that he doesn't even hit remotely close to. The performances here are absolutely great, but the mix and Fred's robotic vocals ruin it. The pressing isn't great either, lots of inner groove distortion and lots of sibilance.

I bought this one as it has a March concert also. The version of White Queen is superb.
We need more 70s Queen live releases. -
Edited 10 years agoWhat a legendary set !
Queen are so young, fiery, enthusiastic. Their performance is mastered from the beginning till the end, nothing seems to be left in the lap of the gods. Perfection is so close, we feel the skills and the hard work of the band in order to create their own sound.
Brian May with his red special makes sparks. Riffs are as powerful and subtle as those of his friend Toni Iommy of Black Sabath, as aerial and thunderous as those of Jimmy Page's. The rhythm section of Roger Taylor and John Deacon mix ferocity and dexterity, elegance and quickness. Freddie Mercury is making his weapons of future king and legendary frontman with his pure voice, piano keys and a disconcerting stage presence.
The young Queen was growing at the speed of light !
