I still prefer the track order of LAMF Revisited, as that's the version I came in on back in '84 — but I've owned just about every different mix that's ever been released of this fine LP, and this one really does have the most teeth and hair out of any of 'em. I found my copy for 15 bucks over at Collectors Choice Music, and I am extremely happy with it.

Edited 10 months agoThis is my third version of this album (4th if you count my CD), and of all I’ve heard this is the less frustrating one. And I insist on the “less frustrating”, because it’s simply not good enough yet.
Just compared it to an original French pressing my fav local record shop has. Although the original has way more punch and is way more natural, this new one is more listenable without wanting to wash the record 1000 times to no result.
And yes, its high end can be harsh and almost unacceptable at some points, but it’s still better than the muddy AF feel of the original. In my honest opinion.
And mentioned above, someone should simply take the original masters and do a good job DIRECTLY FROM THEM, instead of this digital garbage.
For now, I’ll be sticking with this one, even though we can still find ORG presses for good prices. -
I think they used exactly the same master for the recent CD issue: https://discogs.descargarpelis.net/release/20867818-Heartbreakers-LAMF-The-Found-77-Masters-Demos I hear no difference at all. All instruments and vocals very nicely separated and expressive. Maybe it could be more dynamic and less compressed, but it's the best sounding version I've heard so far. Some cracking on vinyl, so I think I'll listen to CD.

Edited 2 years agoSide A sounds fkn awesome!!! Side B..is kinda a mix bag.. like the drugs wore off(or on) on whoever was mixing Side B. Everything sounds a bit mixed *in the red* tape distortion sound. while a few other tracks have that sheen of side 1.
EDIT: after comparing the original UK. That same sound is still on side B.. albeit warm and muddy :). Verry different listening experience. -

Edited 2 years agoI've owned the 1st press and the LAMF Revisited LPs for years and nearly ed on this, but, so, so, glad I didn't and really happy I pulled the trigger. I wasn't expecting big things, maybe a marginal improvement, so I was amazed to hear these songs I've known for decades sound so much clearer and given a new lease of life. This is a definite upgrade on the original, 84 and 94 mixes.

Pirate love sounds a bit wonky on my copy, all other tracks sound fine but I had to check for a moment that it wasn't off centre. Odd, it's the only song that has this slightly out of tune feel. I can only assume it's the actual guitars out of tune or a mastering issue?

Edited 2 years agoHope this gets reissued in a standard black vinyl verson for around $20 that is readily available. I really don't care about the limited color version bs. Seems only fair after all the different inferior versions sold over the years.

So can anyone tell me the difference between the found and lost remastered versions? Are they the same or is there any significant spund difference?
