This box set was originally release in 2010, as limited edition of 1500 copies worldwide, but was in 2021 reprinted and released exclusively in Japan, and through a few importing sources, as a "Sony Music's in-house integrated production analog board"* on "Sky Blue" colored vinyl.
2000 copies was reprinted with a 1st pressing limited to 1500 copies, and an additional 2nd pressing of 500 copies.
In order to release a commemorative edition celebrating Oasis's big 30 years anniversary year in Japan, a with the "Sky Blue" colored vinyl, which is the team color of Oasis's local Manchester soccer team, Manchester City FC, whom also won the English Premier League this season (2020-2021 season). With a special permission, the Japan-only color vinyl was realized and released.
* Sony Music's own integrated production analog record: All analog record production processes, from cutting master production to stamper production and pressing, are carried out within the Sony Music Group.

WOW!!! Just got the repress and it’s stunning! Not only the perfect pick of songs (Hold On is essential), but pressing quality and liner note and photos (English and Japanese) are incredible. Top box set by far! -
I bought this directly from hmv.jp when it released and it did not contain that 10 inch photo book. Just letting people know that it's not part of the package and probably a retailer bonus. -
Edited one year agoI recently bought a brand new (sealed) copy (seller purchased from HMV online store in Mar 2022).
However, it had no cover photo card included.
Here's the details of mine:

Questions for those who have the "mega jacket 10" print" edition:
1-What are the UPC codes, for the cover card version?
2-Anything else included with the cover card edition?

4-If it does have the cover card, does that mean it's part of the initial 1,500 (and that the non cover card version, is the additional 500)?

Excellent collectors item with the typical outstanding QC you get from Japanese pressings. As is typical with Japanese mastering, the midrange is more present that anything else, which bodes very well for songs like Wonderwall ( the best it has ever sounded), and not so good for heavier songs. The outlier here is Supersonic which just pounds you in the gut. It's better than the 2016 remasters for sure, but not outstanding. The packaging and blue discs almost make this impossible not to want. -
Ok---those of you who said this sounds incredible, you are SO RIGHT. This is easily the best sounding Oasis vinyl i've heard. Beautiful clear blue man city blue vinyl and you get the feeling Sony Japan put a lot of care into assembling this box set. I don't think i've heard any Oasis vinyl as beautifully separated and opened up as the mastering on here is. Well worth buying! -
Edited 2 years agoWARNING: This does NOT sound as good as some claim.
The packaging is beautiful and the color of the discs too. No background noise.
About the sound. This mastering has a boost in the middle frequencies, which is good for some songs, but unfavorable for others.
Worst sound: Roll withit, Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger and Some Might Say. It sounds too bassy and lacks high frequencies (DLBIA sounds much better on the 2009 vinyl reissue, even in the unwanted "Anniversary edition" it sounds better than this one).
Special case: Shakermaker: Sounds very clear, but lacks high frequencies too (on the one hand I like it, but on the other hand it feels dull).
Best sound: Supersonic (you can feel the kick drum pounding in your chest), Stand By Me (and all BHN tracks), Whatever and LDSMD. But I think the best best sound is Wonderwall: You can hear even the smallest detail with a beautiful and very balanced frequency spectrum. I wish all the songs sounded as good as this one!
In summary, it is a good opportunity to buy Time Flies on vinyl, because it is a beautiful edition, but DO NOT expect a sound so different from oasis. Personally, I think the (WTS)MG? songs they sound better on the 2009 reissue (I don't have the original 1995 release).
Finally, THIS is NOT the truth, is just my most honest opinion.

The sound is nothing special. Still sounds good, but not as good as it could have been. Had it been mastered like the OG records from the 90s we’d be onto a winner.

Out of curiosity, can anyone who has one of the second batch of 500 box sets say which date is written on the back cover, at the bottom? The original 1500 state 21-12-22, the second batch came out in February 2022. If the date has changed on the back cover, we would be able to see the difference between the two batches.
