5 years later, and currently the lowest price for this record is going for $200. Absolutely mental to pay that much for a shittastic pressing.

How's the sound quality? we don't care how it shines or feels or price this is about sound quality and sound quality.

Just wondering about this version. I have the 50th Anniversary remaster done by Bob Ludwig on normal black vinyl which has a pretty poor review opinion if you check out the listing which is directly the one above this one, I think ?
Now everyone here seems to be raving about the BL remaster even with it being from a digital.source ( after the mofi debacle don't make me laugh digital v analogue, nobody had the slightest inclination a digital source was being used,no one)so how come when one version is a higher priced hand poured coloured vinyl.( yes right, really hand poured, how else do you think they pour it in ? By a robotic arm ?!?! it's always poured by hand for coloured vinyl.editions isn't it ?), versus a standard issue 50th Anniversary, but both done by the same engineer, why would the higher priced one sound better ? Odd or what, don't you think?
Have I misunderstood something here ? Or is it the usual audiophile disease again , the one aka emperor's new clothes syndrome. -
I understand there were only 900 of these produced. The photo example above is stamped LP number 936??

People are complaining about this being sold for 3X retail price when there are plenty of other RSD releases that go for over 10X retail price. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you wanted it, you should have gotten to your record store earlier.

I got one of these on BF without much fuss thanks to a fantastic local vinyl store in my town. I love this record because it brings back many good childhood memories. I have other versions including 50th anniversary box and various CD versions. I bought this specifically disregarding all of the noise and bad reviews that preceded this release because it is very limited and therefore a sound investment (pun intended). Who really cares about extras and bonus content that noone ever looks at or listens to. What they did here is preserve the integrity of the original release which came in a paper sleeve with no bells and whistles. Let's not lose site of the fact that it is all about the music folks! Enjoy the music. And enjoy the fact that you were fortunate enough to add this very limited run to your collection.

LOL reading all the comments and reviews this has roiled up is so entertaining! I sacrificed half my damn Thanksgiving for this anomaly/enigma/cruel scam/curiosity/whatever. To my knowledge, only three copies trickled down to two record stores in northeast Florida - two to a store where I knew I had no chance of getting a copy; and the remaining one to the store where I arrived at 4:41pm Thanksgiving day (and spent the night on a damn air mattress, to the delight of the mosquitos and "no_see_me's" - tiny voracious carnivorous gnats that thrive on beaches around St Augustine, FL). And thank God I arrived when I did; as a young Flipper arrived 30-45 minutes later. Was it worth it? Only time will tell... Visually interesting but nothing to write home about. I *love* Bob Ludwig's remastering; just what I would expect from Master Bob. The vinyl lives down to what the majority of colored vinyl pressings are - inferior - crackly in too many of the quiet ages, and with sonic irregularities in a few others; but acceptable for the most part. What really chaps my ass is the numbering. Mine is #961. What the HELL is up with that? Possibly the numbering includes rejects/defective copies pressed along the way? Did they press, say, 1200, reject 300 of them, yet still include the rejects in the numbering? Am I blowing smoke up my own ass trying to justify the unjustifiable by even uttering such a wobbly fantasy? Right now, I am feeling like this is the last time The Rolling Stones ever get one damn $0.01 from me, so help me God. And I mean it. It is OVER. You only get to have sex with me one time, Mick. That's it. I hope you enjoyed it; now here's the big FU to you! BURN IN HELL! Trying to remain calm. How do I get the last laugh on these SOBs? Only time will tell. ;)

Would have been a good opportunity to do the mono, maybe add the Keith sung Gimmie Shelter or the Mick sung You've Got the Silver as a bonus 45? I'm no colored vinyl fetishist but dang that's fugly

What's really a shame about this release is that it does not come with any bonus tracks, alt mixes, or outtakes. At retail it looks like you're getting an $80 Certificate and a $20 record. This was on my list, but I'll stick with my clear vinyl reissue from a few years ago.
