Edited 5 days agoThis has always been my favourite Beatles' (alongside with the White Album). I read about this legendary A-1/B-3 German enhanced reissue and it became my 1st big target. Found it in a local store barely 1 month after starting buying, and obviously I got it.
It has a soundstage depth and clarity that surprises and overwhelms, you can hear the different instruments come in from different parts of the room with precision and vitality.
I compared this to my other 2023-24 unofficial german digital reissue. First I must say it's a good digital reissue, sounds really well balanced. Regardless, it feels more mellow and lacks the rawness and vivid dynamics of this AAA copy. I would say the digital remaster is a safer listen that pleases without requiring much attention, and this analog one is more detailed and bold, feels alive and kicking and gets you to places that the digital reissue can't.
I must say I don't have an audiophile level equipment (Sony HT-S40R system). Maybe with a sound equipment designed for analog albums, the virtues of this amazing copy are even more outstanding and enjoyable. Someday. -
The MMT A-1 / B-3 legend clearly lives on in this late 70's 'x' variant. My copy is flat, dead quiet, and presents a truly holographic 3d soundstage. Tremendous dynamic range across all tracks and agree w/throwing as much power at it as the listener desires.

This pressing is incredible, as the others A-1/B-3 matrix versions. Mine came with an original Electrola / Hor zü polyl lined inner sleeve.

Edited 2 years agoThis listing and the version listed below are the exact same thing and should be merged, IMHO.
Same exact matrix (even with the tiny, faint "x" stamped at the end), same labels with cursive rim text, same cover (no additional 400001 cat. #, no embossed EMI logo). They're the same.

More people have this and are for sale on here than they realize.. I received 2 different copies on here alone, because sellers didn't look closely enough at what they had and therefore had it listed incorrectly. If you have one with an "X" at the end of the matrix, without an embossed "EMI" logo on the rear, lower right-hand corner, the this is most likely the version you have. ;-)
