Some class mixes on this well worth picking up if you see it, you will need both discs to fully appreciate this release, disc 1 has the newer mixes, Jimmy Gomez and WOW which are from 1996 a bit quicker than the original, the original is the obvious starting point, peak time Sasha @ The Eclipse and Dj Vertigo use to play it alot, putting Black Box - Strike it up acapella over the top, ive been playing the intropella mix in my ambient sets recently, works an absolute treat, such a nice soothing melody, top drawer release from Stress. -

I love Last Rhythm, its one of my favourite tracks of all time, but this remix is atrocious. The vocals genuinely make me gag. NEEEEEXT! -
Edited one year agoDoes anyone know the actual tracks in this release? Any info would be appreciated.

A very beautiful B3 Intropella track on this single. Thumbs up for the record company on a decision to submit this for official release 👍 -

The definition of European House music, absolute classic. Fell in love with this way back when and it still brings me out in goose-bumps.

The way out west remix is sublime - catch Spunky mixing it on essential mix something or other from late ‘96

A choice tune. One with picture covers getting harder to find. Some crop up from Italy, so have to pay that bit extra on postage and VAT. -

Last Rhythm from 1990 encapsulated a lot of what was most beautiful of a beautiful time.
Everyone loved it.
The name Last Rhythm turned out to be pretty accurate in a way, sadly. The summer of 1990 for myself and a lot of people was the last of the three or four consecutive great, beautiful summers. For me the beautiful era continued through the years 91 and 92, though just winding down.
I guess I was kind of aware that Last Rhythm was kind of like a message, beautiful, full of joy, with some sadness at the same time.
I'm enjoying the Afro Dub just now, with its 86-88 Chicago style bassline. It's from 91. The mixes went on for years, happily, as people tried to extend the last rhythm as long as possible. 😊 😢
Sometimes I got really into the vocal mixes but the original and dub versions are where the classic track is. The vocal mixes were kind of so different, of a different vibe, they seemed to require a very different kind of set to be skillfully worked into.
Salute to this particular piece of paradise we were lucky enough to be given. -

It's never really occurred to me before until very recently, to time the tracks on this record. Not only are the durations quite a bit off between the ones stated on the label and this release page. But the Club Mix of the copy of this exact same pressing is off by a good 20 seconds between my copy and what is stated on this page. I've calibrated and adjusted my turntable correctly, it is as accurate as it's going to get. Running time on release page is 6:02 and 6:25 on my copy.
Classic, anyway. These early versions without any vocals are what it's all about for me. You need this if you haven't got it already. 1990 was a great year for music, even for the mellower productions. More quality and less cheese for your buck, compared to a couple or more years down the line.
