Notes
Beggars Banquet is the seventh British and ninth American studio album by the English rock band London Records in the United States.
In UK, the first laminated gatefold cover was printed by Garrod and Lofthouse. The time in between the decision on how the cover should look like and the actual manufacturing was probably very short. They had no time to wait for the Patent to be ed so they had to put the "Patents Pending" text next to the name. Beggars Banquet was released at the end of 1968, when the mono production in UK was at the end. This is why it is more common to find this text on stereo cover. For the above reason, the text "Patents Pending" identify the very earliest UK mono cover.
The earliest matrix known for the mono version end with -4A (side 1) and -2A (side 2).

My copy matches this one in all particulars EXCEPT the obi is black with 1/8" red trim at bottom. The japanese text is in yellow and red, with "The Rolling Stones" in blue. The obi includes the "London Stereophonic" rounded triangle and "SLC 479" in white.
Has anyone else seen or have one like this? -

The Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet 2003 reissue from ABKCO is an exceptional release that any vinyl enthusiast and Stones fan should not miss. Pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl, the record offers a substantial, well-balanced sound that does justice to the iconic album's timeless tracks. The reissue captures the grit and energy of the original, with noticeably enhanced clarity and depth that make songs like "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Street Fighting Man" even more immersive.
The album comes in a beautifully designed gatefold sleeve, featuring vibrant artwork and high-quality reproductions of the original packaging, making it a pleasure to hold and ire. The pressing itself, made in the US, is flawless, with minimal surface noise and no noticeable defects. The attention to detail on this release, both in of sound and packaging, reflects ABKCO’s dedication to preserving the legacy of one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
Sound-wise, it’s clear that the mastering team put a lot of care into this reissue, giving it the rich tonal depth that vinyl fans crave. The bass hits hard, the guitars ring with clarity, and Mick Jagger's vocals are as sharp as ever. If you're looking for a perfect way to experience Beggars Banquet in its most vibrant form, this 180-gram pressing from ABKCO is an excellent choice. A must-have for both audiophiles and fans of the Stones. -
I bought two new copies of this LP on RSD and both have really bad surface noise, one is a little better but both are really bad. The overall sound is great but probably the worst surface noise of any LP's I've bought in the last few years.

I find this on par with my 1968 UK unboxed stereo. Same clarity and vibrance. All the OG US releases (Monarch the best of the bunch) have a murkiness to them that they lack. The DSDs are very good and a slight level down but much better than the US OGs. -

Master speed is waay to slow and sound quality is mid, overall, don't buy if you don't own a turntable with pitch correction

This is the only pressing I have heard of this album so take what I say with a grain of salt. Perhaps a bit lacking in the low range, but typical for Japanese pressings especially of this era. However, the clarity and instrument separation here will blow you away! I’ve never heard this album so three dimensional, and with headphones on I’m picking up things in songs I’ve never heard before.
Also, gotta talk about the color, what in the world!? It looks fantastic but hard to believe this is from 1981. Such a cool relic, and definitely the coolest piece from the Stones that I own. Happy it sounds so great on top of that.
