It’s pretty hard being a collector when most of your favourite bands have so little releases! Definitely two of my favourite bands are Beargarden (evolved from the ears) and Geisha. Any other fans here?
I know these bands - being vaguely of the vintage required - but they were incredibly hard to hear outside of Sydney and Melbourne, where there were amazing record stores AND public/community radio stations that played non-chart, indie (not that it was called such but you get the idea) or experimental music. Beargarden were cool - Gus Till from that band has had an amazing career. Geisha i'm not so familiar with but I recall seeing them on Countdown.
Gus Till is a legend. Great musician. Seems like the scenes in each state were very disparate from e/o (Melbourne and Sydney were quite close in sound, or at least in my humble opinion).
