Pressing quality leaves much to be desired. Pops and crackles throughout and scuffs from those awful printed inner sleeves. Typical bad GZ quality. Mastering is fine.

Absolutely stellar job of re-mastering this album, sounds fantastic in every possible way. My copy has no surface noise of any description, perfect. Always loved this record, along with Seventeen Seconds, the two albums that got me into The Cure, dark, brittle dream-like music. Original is long gone, given away decades ago, but this is a great replacement.

Has anyone noticed the labels discrepancy between what's shown here compared to the actual album pressing? Specifically where it shows in the pictures here how it's supposed to have 2 stacked lines near the bottom half reading "1981 Fiction Records. Mine isn't laid out like that on the labels. I also see mine has references to Czech Republic it I'm not seeing anything in the notes about specifically being made there, only Europe. Just curious. I did a search for my deadwax numbers but I'm not finding anything else made in Europe that reflects those details.

The sound is indeed impressive. And as it has been said, there is no need to look for the original, this one sounds much better with a nice density of sound and all the details. When the remastering is done by the artists themselves it is beautiful to listen to. The cover is also better made than my old version from 1981. This is the version to have (on vinyl). Enjoy!
