Reviews
-
Great record by Winehouse but horrible pressing. Muffled vocals, skipping, poor balance of instrumentals.

I really like this album. My pressing is great. The only problem is the hole was too tight and the vinyl didn’t fit but that was fixed with a pencil and a tiny bit of sandpaper. Overall really impressed with it, considering I found it in a dollar bin.

Not a good pressing, but I'm not sure what I expected from a Target reissue with different cover art in 2021.
The pink disc is a neat gimmick, but it sounds like it's being played through an AM radio; the highs are extremely muted and the bass is so heavy it distorts in places. I halfway wonder if they forgot to run the RIAA precompensation before cutting this one. I honestly wish they'd just included a code for a digital version with the disc so it could sit there and look pretty and I could listen to a version that sounds right. -
Pressing doesn’t sound particularly good to me and jacket is flimsy. Worth the 15 bucks I paid for it at Urban Outfitters.

It's really bass heavy at the expense of the other instruments so it's definitely lacking in dynamics. I can understand why people don't particularly care for the US pressings of the album. However, Amy's voice sounds fantastic. My copy is also clear, without any surface noise. If I were more of a stickler for these things, I might be unhappy with it but it's not the worst sounding record in my collection. I'd probably avoid if you're a hardcore audiophile.
