For me it was all about Sahrah when someone ed the video clip to the internet about 17 years ago - but that cover art!......

Edited one year agoA very strange beast for anyone who discovered the band via « Dans votre monde ».
The first thing that strikes you is a deeply gothic vibe, quite opposite to the euphoric synth pop of that song. But then, oh my, the vocals start. If you can imagine Su Tissue at her most unhinged you're halfway there. And this is a guy singing.
But don't turn off. The songs are incredible, with heavy guitars and outstanding synth playing. They range from intense Goth Rock to melancholy Darkwave (see early Kirlian Camera), but never get boring.
The highlight for me is Sahrah, a stunning slice of indescribable doom (yet being at the same time irresistible). The chorus crashes down on you without remorse, then the synth line twists around your corpse (in a quasi eastern scale, similar to Peppermint Lounge - Perfect High).
Make no mistake, this is dark stuff. But it's consistently involving and you're forever peeking out from your hands-covered-eyes to gawp at the scene unfold.
Superb. -
