Edited 3 years agoMy copy of this CD - this exact pressing, I'm pretty sure - has a an additional small 4 page insert with an order form for T-shirts raising money for The Refugee Project, plus a note from Lauryn Hill with a picture of her signature. I bought my copy secondhand, so I don't know if this insert is in every CD copy, or if it even came with mine originally. The website listed for The Refugee Project is no longer active.

Edited 3 years agoOk, Ok, Ok...I know this Classic, Beautifully Crafted album has been probably been reviewed thousands and thousands of times, but I am going to try to, even though I have a feeling that some of things I might say will make some extremely angry...First of all, "THIS ALBUM IS FREAKIN' BRILLIANT!!!! PERIOD!!! Besides Prince's "Sign "O" The Times" and Marvin Gaye's "What Going On", I have never listened to an album, and after I finished listening to it, was completely speechless!!! I mean really, I didn't say anything for hours...That may sound dramatic to some of you, but if you knew me, you would know I am telling the truth..Not one song is sorry!!! Not only does it have the tracks the make you bump (Doo Wop (That Thing), Everything is Everything), to the songs that make you soothe (Ex-Factor, Nothing Even Matters) with the latter mentioned is a fantastic duet with the one and only D'Angelo...What really makes this album so perfect, was the beautiful blend between Ms. Hill's voice and some of the best music ever assembled...With people like "James Poyser" and "John Legend" being introduced on "Everything Is Everything", this is some of the best quality SOUL music that deserves to be recorded...I mean even the music on the interludes (which i affectionately call the "Class Lessons on Love") are absolutely stunning!!! Then after all of that is the title track, OMG!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! In fact I think that's the song that silenced me the most!!! I just bought the Vinyl, and I am so glad that "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and "Tell Him" was included...Now the part that may make people mad at me..As brilliant as this album is, and it is, it is also what I call the best thing, worst thing situation...What do I mean? Think about it, Lauryn poured out so much that, after this it seemed to drain everything out of her...Seriously, how many albums has she released, besides the "Unplugged" (which wasn't bad), and being a part of the "Nina Simone" tribute album..I do blame it also on personal matters and of course, the jacked up music business...But for cats like myself, who love albums like this, and they are too far in between, I crave for more music like this!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I know it is not just on her shoulders, she just set the bar so high, it's just what I expect...I hope that you guys enjoyed at least some of what I said...Please don't be angry with me....
