Amazing release! Shame the sleeves never fit back in the outer cover once you took them out for the first time, am I right??!! …or just me?

Edited 3 years agoA must have compilation in anyone's collection. Great introduction to Bebey, it's a compilation of his best work imo. Pressing is really really good. Bissau is the one for me. A+

Does anyone know on what release 'forest nativity' came out originally? Can't seem to find the answer on Discogs -or anywhere else for that matter. Does this release perhaps list the original source?

Edited 4 months agoWow! Francis Bebey took me by storm a year ago, when this album was released. I was travelling in Peru and Ecuador at the time, but made an order on Bandcamp which allowed me to the album in WAV, and although this is truly African roots music, these deep, ancient meditations did wonders numerous times while hiking in the Amazonian jungles and the mountainous landscapes of the Andes. San Pedro + Bebey = .........

An amazing compilation. Picked this up on a whim based on the recommendation of a clerk in the record store, and very quickly fell in love. Some of the grooviest rhythms I've ever heard, beautiful melodies, and Bebey's vocals are as great as they are entertaining (very). A wonderful mix of African Folk, with lush, psychedelic soundscapes.
