As a punk listener, I used to laugh off a prog rock album as a collection of pretentious assholes making a little noise as expensively as possible. This is not the case. In The Court Of The Crimson King isn't just a fun, novel little album, but in fact managed to open me up to an entirely new genre of music that can be beautiful and powerful. I will always have a heart for punk, but I've made room for this noise as well. The artwork is bold and haunting. It sticks out in a collection, sure to grab the curiosity of someone who hasn't been fortunate enough to hear it in it's full glory. If you're not a prog rock listener, it may be an acquired taste, especially with such a in-your-face opening song, but with patience it will deliver a great listen. A definite must spin for anybody interested (or completely uninterested) in prog rock.

Also, my copy has the spine text printed on the far left edge of the front cover. Not sure if that's normal or not.
