Second album out for Opeth, the refined their sound a little, focusing more on bass lines. It works very well for them. Also they are using more an more clean vocals, with adds another dimension to the tracks. Advent is a great opening track, showing the vast span of styles incoroprated in the album. Further in the second track,”The Night And The Silent Water”, more acoustic guitar solos are added for more depth, and probably just because they were talented musicians at the time. “Nectar” feels like an continuation of the ideas of “Advent”, with more solos present, and ending abruptly. The magnum opus of course here bein my favourite track of all time; “Black Rose Immortal.” All the styles of the previous tracks are included in this one. Their longest track ever has more parts than I care to count, but all of them are vital to the structure of the track. Beautiful metal.overdrive riffs, great acoustic sections. I love how this track kicks in all directions, like a child finding its way in the dark, doing all that he knows. Lastly, “To bid you farewell” is such an emotive track. Laidback and still so sad. A tale of goodbye and lamentation.

Can anyone who owns this confirm the cover doesn't have the ridiculous scan moire that plagues the Back on Black reissues?
