This Street Sounds issue was one of my first in the beginning of the eighties. I would say the one with the the strongest songs from all 20 editions. 40 years after it turn up it is still remarkable. No filler songs. When you are interested in Boogie - Funk - Soul music from the first half of the 80s, buy it. And it gives you ideas to buy from one or another artist on this compilation a whole album. What is really worth.

This was the first of the series that I didn't buy. Too much filler on this and the reduction in quality would continue with each successive release after this.

Released in 1983, this edition of the Streetsounds collection still sounds bright and lively. Standout tracks for me are the fantastic "I want you (all tonight)" by Curtis Hairston, "The Sound of Music" by Dayton and the slightly cheesy but brilliant "Superstar" by Lydia Murdock as a response song by Michael Jacksons "Billie Jean". The other tracks are all worth a listen too.
The Streetsounds collections lost it for me around volume 13 or so but up until that point represent solid dance track. Time to rip the tapes to MP3 I think.
