This is the copy to have. Same as US but pressed at Optimal and Kevin Grey cut in a very good quality, no pops, clicks and flat. Sound is immaculate and it sounds like an analogue records should sound unlike the later remasters. All the other releases from this time are the best ones, especially Dirty Mind and Prince.

Record sound is immaculate and vinyl has no skips, pops, static. Really wanted this KG remastered press. You won’t be disappointed.

Completely opposite to CosmicScale's comment - The white paper sleeve is actually a decent poly-lined sleeve on mine - not sure if this differs on yours. This is not cheap at all, and much better than a printed paper sleeve. I hate that my 1999 has printed paper sleeves, as these days whenever they do this they always cause light scratches or scuffs on the record which are audible, sometimes other marks too. I don't know what it is that causes this, possibly sleeving the records too soon after cooling at the plant, but you're always so much better off with a nice poly lined sleeve. Printed separate sheets with lyrics etc... are welcome of course, as are the rare printed and poly-lined sleeves of the type you get with some old Geffen label records.

Zero pressing issues with this release for me, no matrix crossing the grooves, one click on the whole thing and one of the best pressings in my collection. Perhaps there are copies that were rushed out after Prince's death with this error and inferior plain paper sleeves?? Mine was bought the week before he died, so was older stock from the original 2009 pressing I guess.

To me that copy sounds good in comparison with other Prince reissues I have. But as previously mentioned, the sleeve has a very cheap looking.

No issues with the matrix number on my copy. It does not cross the runout groove, plays good without any cracks.

The quality of this reissue doesn't hold up to other recent Prince reissues. Instead of a printed inner sleeve you get a white paper one, what should have been printed on the sleeve is on a separate piece of paper that folds out and is plain white on the reverse, very cheap looking. Like Yorkie98 said I've also noticed the matrix number crosses into the runout groove on side one which is a little annoying.

By comparison the quality of the 1999 reissue is superb! The recent reissues of For You & his self titled album Prince are also of good quality. I'm a little disappointed with this one to be honest.

On side one, the hand written matrix number (the 9 and 6 of R1-25110-A S-66596) cross into the runout groove causing a nasty multiple crackle. I'm not sure this is good for a stylus so now I try to lift off before this point is reached.
