i had the japanese OG of this and wasnt too happy with it. sounded tinny and bright. this electrola pressing smokes the jp version. its much more balanced and warm sounding. the upgrade journey has come to a screeching halt. recently i was gifted the holland OG and that too sounds very good. defn much better than the jp. but the german one still has the edge over the holland. top 3 i would say UK(best), german and holland

"A Hard Days Night" on this German release is noticeably sped up. Sounds more urgent, more aggressive.

The EQ throughout this pressing is shaved highs, unfortunately. What makes up for that is its fuller mids and lower frequencies with detailed bass. I get enormous delight out of playing "Nowhere Man" with the right channel turned to 0, leaving us with Paul's very tubey Hofner bass, Ringo, John's(?) acoustic strumming, and George's occasional fills in the left channel; sans vocals, all rhythm. It pops! On all the versions of N M which I own I don't hear it mastered with the bass highlighted, up front as much as it sounds on the 1973 German pressing. Try it cranked up w your !
