This is by far his best album IMO. It sounds like a synthesis of the sounds of so many older bands I grew up with like Coil, Chris & Cosey, Nitzer Ebb, and Skinny Puppy while at the same time sounding completely new and fresh. Lots of modern bands try to recapture the golden years of the aforementioned bands and fail miserably because their nostalgia has blinded them from doing anything new. In this case, I can confidently say this is a new sound but the influences are obvious.

Reckon 'palm tree corpse' is by far one of the best pieces of work that Dom has put out,any chance of an instrumental on vinyl?

Edited 13 years agoThis sounds like Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy soundtrack at times. The "vocals" can get annoying sometimes, but mostly they contribute to the overall effect of despair and hopelessness that permeate this record.
