Chicane – Far From The Maddening Crowds

Sounds great, so good to finally have in my collection. Perfect dynamic sounds, ocean scapes could be louder, but still sounds great. Can’t wait to push out some bass and vibes on some of these for the crew! Can literally feel the sun rising in Ibiza and setting, so many classic 90’s early 2000 vibes when trance was around its purest form!

Absolutely great! For me, it was at first impression hard to detect some noise, but yes, there are a few pops in my case, but they disappear after brushed. I will clean and wash the vinyl maybe after this, but it's almost not really relevant to me the pops that it contains... I always used to apply a small brush and this vinyl is nice to hear, and I'm not exaggerating. As I said, just a couple of low-volume pops.

Important: I asked for a return once, one year ago, with a Stevie Wonder Near Mint / Near Mint record, with a terrible skip and two huge pops before that... seller returned me the money and offered me to keep the vinyl. After this, I updated my cartridge on my ProJet turntable, to the Red Ortofon 2M. And the Stevie Wonder record now runs smoothly and perfectly.

Some cartridges are more sensitive to showing up the skips than others.

With this pressing on Chicane, once the Ortofon Red runs the vinyl, the soundstage and dynamics appear in a great way, as the mastering and pressing are very good. One more hit of Music on Vinyl.

If you love Chicane, go for this pressing, no worries.

Horrendous pressing that pops and crackles all the way through the start of the first three sides, completely ruining the listening experience. Not quite sure what has happened with my copy after reading the rest of the comments! Brand new record and sounds like a dodgy old Jamaican pressing! Not impressed! :$

Quality pressing this album deserved! What a beautiful marbled green color on the record and it sounds like a dream! Very very happy to both this and Behind The Sun in my collection! Thank you Nick for these timeless masterpieces

The fact this didn't sell out in pre order suggests that the younger generation aren't familiar with these first 2 albums, this and Behind The Sun are 2 of the most essential early trance albums, they've influenced countless producers and bands in the years following. There are still copies out there, although quite expensive, but you'll never find a good quality original at an acceptable price, and these MOV represses are stunningly done.

Another quality pressing in MOV's Chicane reissues. Sadly, and confusingly, the only one in the series not housed in a gatefold sleeve. It's a minor gripe, I suppose. There's nothing else to complain about here. It sounds and looks absolutely mega.

Fantastic Pressing. No Surface noise, pops , crackles or hisses of any kind. Music is well mastered considering its 26 year old digitally made. My only gripe is that this isnt gatefold unlike the rest of the recent Chicane reissues so it looks off compared to the other 5 Update: I ed MOV and it appears the label and MOV had not much artwork to work with from the label which is why its not a gatefold.

Agree with below. Just wet cleaned as per-usual and this sounds 👌 the odd crackle, but dynamics to my ears are superb.
