- TVT Records address on the tracklist flap is 59 W. 19th St. NY, while the address on the cassette is 23 E. 4th Street NY.
- the copyright text on the back cover is justified to the right (towards barcode)
- the fold-out artwork is not perforated
- CRC on spine artwork under TVT logo
- "nine inch nails pretty hate machine" text on cassette is narrowed / stretched out (other releases have it more "normal" looking)
- Dolby System logo present on cassette under TVT logo (absent on some releases)
- SR (Specialty Records) present on cassette above TVT logo (absent on some releases)
- black cassette tape with black spindles
- the tape window contains "100-50-0" markers (other releases have different number combinations)
- no "MADE IN USA" text molded into cassette shell
- top corners of cassette print area are 90 degree angles (some releases have 45 degree angles or rounded corners)
- cassette case features Digalog sticker.
