RMB – Deep Down Below

The next chapter in music evolution of RMB delivers us a series of tracks made from a fusion of trance and mind travelling melodies and the usual female vocals. Tracks like Deep down below, April, Beauty of simplicity and Feel the flame are a proud example of the musical direction that RMB chose to follow after the rave era. Quite different, yet, they managed to change their style in a way that you could still say: Yes, this is RMB. I recognise the style. Elements like the fluctuation, the diversity in sounds and melodies, the constant changing in the sounds, are identical with those in their rave tracks. Different sounds, but the same mood in a way that you can't be bored.

Like this particular track. Deep down below has a calm, atmospheric introduction of pads and strings played in a low octave in the keyboard's clavier, followed by a not so fast and fat drum line and a distinctive bass line. As usual in RMB's tracks, vocals play a significant role in how the song evolves. Christina Lux gave her best singing in different vocal tones a demanding and difficult song.

For sure this kind of trance music isn't my cup of tea, but as a music lover and irer, i cannot deny the fact that this track along with the above mentioned are well arranged, written and played and listened with joy. For a raver or a hard trance lover this kind of trance may appear boring and soft, but before you reach the verdict give it a try. You will be surprised. These guys definitely had talent.
