I totally disagree with the above comment.Pop ambient albums are always full of new ideas and creativity.
This one is no exception and in my humble opinion, this one is of the best in the series.
It's one of the few albums (In any genre of music) that I like all the tracks on it,but these are my 3 favorite songs:All "Logopedie",Ulf Lohmann "Audrey", Into Silence "Sakura"
This album is simply "Beautiful"...If some people find pop ambient series "boring" I think it's just because they can't understand the concept of this kind of music,it's abstract,it based on the concept of "repetition",and again,it's "Beautiful".

Well, I feel like I have to give a proper review of the Pop Ambient releases.
I've been listening to these collections for a long time now and there's just two words that can describe them:
Simply brilliant!
Nowhere else can you find a broad rage of ambient tracks and nowhere else can you find such an abundance of tracks with my favourite kind of music. Really spacious, deep and hypnotic ambient tracks, very similar to the Wolfgang Voigt's GAS releases.
These songs, especially Markus Guentner's tracks are really awesome, especially the track Express Yourself from the 2003 release. When you listen to that one you will definitely understand what I mean.
The other artists is also really good and they kind of stand out in their own way. One example is Novisad with the track Sommersonnenschein from the 2002 release. It's really good with a twist of calm weidness.
One other good thing is that the collections are very consistent. None of the songs turn into some hard or experimental stuff so you can easily sit back, relax and listen to the albums in one sitting.
So... If you're into ambient music that leans more to the deep, hypnotic and spacious kind then the Pop Ambient series is definitely something for you. -
Edited 20 years agoI know a few people who bought some of the Kompakt Pop Ambient releases (including me). All of them say that they are not really convinced by these CDs, rarely listen to them and only bought them because they are on Kompakt. So to me the Pop Ambient series mainly is a marketing phenomenon.
The 2004 release doesn't change this, though it is actually one of the best of the series. Highlights are "Sakura" by Into Silence and "Fearsome Jewel 9" by Andrew Thomas who go a little beyond the generic flowing sounds. For the other tracks there seems to be one blueprint on which they are all based on. I can't really distinguish them.

Edited 20 years ago"All - Logopedie 99" also was released in 1999 as "Mint - Logopedie" on Kreisel 99/52 - All and Mint are both projects by Wolfgang Voigt.
