The drum machine work-out on the instrumental version of this classic was/is completely on another level with it's release in 83 and still sounds great today.

Having loved "Planet Rock", "Looking for the Perfect Beat", & "Play at your own Risk", this one didn't grab me at the time. The african chanting was a bit corny for me.
Even now, I'd say it's my least favorite from the Baker/Robie camp.

This was the third in a string of four MIGHTY Soulsonic Force electro 12"s. The record cover was designed by Bob Camp of Marvel Comics (as were the two Newcleus albums). The video for this track had some of the same scenes as the Planet Rock video. Renegades of Funk truly stood on its own without trying to sound (or not to sound) like Planet Rock or Looking For The Perfect Beat.
