Mastering is fantastic. But the pressing is really noisy and especially the second lp. And my god take the stupid live track off the album. Patterns in the Ivy should have started disc 4 going into Blackwater Park.

Edited one year agoAnyone else have an issue with the 2nd LP having the spindle hole punched off center? I found one at a record store brand new, sealed, and the 2nd LP spindle hole was poorly cut. It was all wobbly sounding (worse toward the center) and the needle was tracking left to right. I took it back to the store and they put it on their system and agreed to a return as it was clearly defective right out of the plastic. Then I found the exact same pressing on Amazon for $9 less (which was nice) and it has the exact same issue (not so nice.) I just submitted a return/exchange for the same product to see if I run across the problem on a 3rd copy. The first LP sounds fantastic though. Great job on the first LP.

A simply stunning pressing and reissue of what might be Opeths best album. Looks and sounds like the GZ US plant does a better job than the overworked EU counterpart. As good as the MOV reissue while looking alot more fitting at the same time

Sounds great. Much better than some of my other Music for Nations vinyl I have for Opeth. Great soundstage and balanced lows and highs.
Love the marble colouring on the vinyl. -
This pressing is gorgeous - both visually and sonically. The marbling and slight translucency are stunning. Åkerfeldt’s melodic vocals pierce the soul, his growls absolutely crush, and each instrument is crisp and amazingly dynamic. Zero surface noise. Easily one of the best pressings in my collection.

Edited 3 years agoWhat an album this is!
However, I must say that the quality of the visual reproduction on the cover is poor. The front cover appears a bit blurry and pale in comparison of other versions. Also, the band picture printed on the inside is also blurry and pixelated. I wonder if they scanned an old CD booklet at the corner shop... The sound is good, similar to my original 2001 CD, with perhaps a slightly broader dynamic range. I do not have other vinyl versions to compare. -
For you U.S. buyers, this is still available on Target's website for $32.49. They shipped mine immediately and came in a very sturdy package. Recommend going that route before giving into flippers. Cheers.
