Can anyone tell me how does this hold up to the MOV version? I have been debating on whether to take a shot on this one on Amazon but have the MOV already. Would you say it depends on if you happen to get the 1/2 speed Abey Road version of this one or the non 1/2AR version? From what I can tell its a crap shoot as to which version of this 2016 reissue you get.

Totally a five-star record 100%, with the exception that the first disc was a bit dirty on mine however a simple cleaning took care of that, plus I can't necessarily blame them, only myself. Because as much as it's bad for you I was smoking while I open the record. I opened it mostly to check whether or not it was the half-speed master, which it is, and I happen to be smoking at the time and it just so happened that some ashes fell off of my cigarette and onto side A of the first disc. So luckily I've got a nice VPI cleaning machine and that took care of the issue.

Aside from that a fantastic pressing and truly phenomenal, I can't really comment on the semblance or harshness that some people report, mine doesn't exhibit these traits, it just exhibits what is perhaps some of the best sound quality from one of the best collections of songs ever laid down.

Oh and by the way I bought mine from Barnes& Noble for 37 US dollars. While it's higher than some people are quoting for the Amazon pressing, as of January 2024 if you look on Amazon for the album their charging basically the same price as I paid at Barnes& Noble. So it looks like over the last 6 months the prices went up about $10. Still not a bad price considering not only the quality of the album itself but also the tracks and the music and the fact that it's a half speed master and from what I've heard it's the best version of this album I've ever heard,..

I bought it and just received it from Amazon: it's the Abbey Road half speed version, etched on runouts.
It sounds great and got excellent SQ in all tracks, except the end of Love is Stronger than Pride, the last of side B. The Right channel sounds distorted and scratchy.
I am torn whether to return it and get another one, in case the new one shows any of the other defects mentioned here ...
It's a bargain at €24, but better quality control should be expected ...
