I don’t know who sounds better. Carolyn Thomas or Rory Gallagher. I love em both. Bought this at record store day, it’s still in heavy rotation. Almost sounds like it’s in a recording studio. Rory is amazing

Wonderful acoustic blues/folk set and interview with the late Rory Gallagher.  I have a special connection because I went to high school and college in the Cleveland area, and WNCR and DJ Carolyn Thomas were my favorites in 1972 when this was recorded.  I probably heard this live on the radio!

As a matter of fact, I have a tape I recorded about a week after this set, of Carolyn's overnight radio show one Tuesday morning, some music, but mostly showcasing her sparkling personality.  I plan to post the edited version on YouTube as a tribute to her, and to show young people who weren't around back then, how great live, spontaneous radio used to be before it became the homogenized, rigidly scripted mess it is now, like the IHeartRadio conglomerate.

So if anyone has any info on Cleveland DJ Carolyn Thomas (a pic would be great) that I could post with my YouTube audio, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks!

This is a cool little RSD release and what RSD releases should be. Decent sleeve thickness, nice inner sleeve, records is probably in the neighborhood of 160-180g. Great artwork too (although the back cover should have been the front). Killer, laid back performance too. Listen for the exchange when the DJ asks Rory about Taste. Good stuff.

My US bought copy doesn’t have the hype sticker or card. It does have the made in the CZ sticker on the back. US vs EU distribution similar to 'back in black' releases? Any US buyers with copies like or not like this?

Is this on Chess because of the Muddy Waters’ tracks?

My copy came out quite of its sleeve quite dusty. Sounded amazing though after a quick wash. Really glad i got it!

I think this sounds great. Super intimate feel w/ even sort of awkward moments in the dialogue between songs just making it that much more unique. Rory's playing is lights out here!
