This is a great reissue, collecting everything (Besides the Beatles cover presumably for legal reasons). Would love if more Fall albums got this treatment
-
Defo too bass heavy, makes it v difficult to crank the volume without overpowering everything. And Frenz really needs the volume cranked!! Otherwise it’s very nice to have everything from the era in one place. Great presentation and sleevenotes too.

This pressing sounds real nice-uh. Love the version of Bremen Nacht-uh. Such a great rocking record. Seriously underrated-dah. I even like the Fall doing the Kinks.

Actually, I found this reissue to be incredibly bass heavy, especially on the opening track. The kick drum has that heavy ‘flopping’ sound that overpowers the music to the point that I needed to drastically adjust the EQ on my receiver which is rare when playing my other records. I recently scored an original pressing and did not have the same issue. A much more balanced and enjoyable listen in my opinion.

I sometimes wonder where some of the conributors get their information from. There's nowhere mentioned that this is a pressing made in the USA. Beside that, the pressing itself is wonderful. Clear and dynamic sound and no overdriven bass. I wished they'd put a single to it like the limited edition of the 80s. Every Fall fan should have that in their collection. Highly recommended.

Edited 4 years agoThis review is for the UK edition. Only seems to have a US entry on Discogs at the moment... or maybe it should say UK?
Excellent pressing and sounds terrific imo. Nicely packaged and the interviews on the inner sleeves make for an interesting read although I wished they’d put it into a separate booklet and the records were in poly-lined bags instead. Small thing, it is still magnificent and worth the money - circa £25 at time of writing. -
Is this really a US pressing? Identical to the item I have here in the UK and I am sure it isn't imported from US
