Edited 2 years agoI compared this to my 1984 (??) French pessing It's My Life (There are 4 French pressings all dated 1984) - and the original has more dynamics, is quite a bit louder and has more of an open and treble-sounding feel. This good-looking purple/lilac vinyl with designed labels is more dense, compact and muffled/flat sound and a bit low in its output. I have to put the volume up a bit as compared to the 1984 pressing
I do not consider this to be a good remaster when it comes to the sound, no. No anomalies on my copy so that's good but when it comes to the rich sound of Talk Talk, I would not recommend it. -
Edited one year agoSounds fantastc, an absolutely stunning pressing on a beautiful coloured slab of vinyl, lovely.

I agree with johnnymacaw. This edition sounds great. Mine has a Made In sticker on the back of the LP. Sometimes Rhino reissues have shitty/flat/noisy pressings, not this one. Look for the sticker and you'll be fine.

The sound in this version is quite different from the 1984 American vinyl release. The bass in this 2020 version is very much reduced and the midrange is quite prominent, to the point of being harsh. The 1984 American vinyl had an awful echo on the midrange (particularly the voice), and a very boomy bass. Soundwise, i think it is not a good remaster. Bottom line, it does improve over the American 1984 pressing, but it does not sound like it should for such a great record from a band like Talk Talk.

Yo.
I hate to give out negative , especially on such an amazing album, but unless my copy is a factory defect the plant put both hype stickers directly on the actual sleeve underneath the seal. I noticed this after opening it up and was pretty bummed. The actual disc is fine. I love colored vinyl, and have bought many SYEOR reissues but this has certainly been the first let down in that regard. Maybe I'm the only one experiencing this issue, but either way wanted to potentially warn any collectors in question!
All the best,
~Al -

What is the sound quality like?
Is it from the same stampers from this version? Same matrix (almost)
