THE DJ PRODUCER - DOOMSDAY EXPANDED REDUX

A brief explanation & breakdown.

In 2004, Manu Le Malin’s label, Bloc 46, released The Dj Producer’s original “Doomsday Mechaniks” CD LP. A distinct departure from his known “UK B Boy Hardcore” sound of the time, but also a direct reflection of the direction he wanted his own imprint Rebelscum to take. As a direct result of this deep “investigative work” Luke undertook.

At the end there were at least 20 tracks in totality initialy designated for Doomsday, but as it was a CD only project, quite a lot of what was created was painfully sidelined.

15 years later, Rebelscum reboots, Doomsday Mechaniks re-envisaged & completed as the “Dark Ambient” alternative version. Really a version 2 from within version 1.

Expanded - Because we included the tracks that were omitted from the original CD.

Redux -- Because we leave out those tracks that DID see a vinyl release (5 in total)

A1 - PRECURSOR.
(The original Album intro track - omitted from the original once other ambient segments were retracted)
A2 - 4 MINUTE INTERGALACTIC DJ BATTLE
(1st time released on vinyl)
B1 - THE PAIN THRESHOLD
(1st time released on vinyl)
B2 - SORROW IN THE KEY OF H
(Co written with Chris “The Doc” Maxey. Edited version of an original 9 minute piece. Omitted due to
time restraints)
C1 - ANOTHER SIGNAL
(Ambient noise piece omitted from the original due to time restraints)
C2 - LIQUIFY
(Ambient noise piece omitted from the original due to time restraints)
D1 - A JOURNEY OF FORCE (LFO’s WIZZARDS SLEEVE REMIX) (Remix by Mark Bell RIP. VIP.)

I include this remix here as to honour the memory of Mark Bell from LFO.
Round the time of me & Hellfish releasing our “Bastard Sons Of Rave” album for Planet Mu, label boss Mike Paradinas licensed “Witch Hunt” from Rebelscum (006 with Manu) for in inclusion.
The track itself contains a rather healthy sample of the bleep sequence from LFO’s “Track 4” - (an idea i stole from a Dj Hype record on Suburban Base in my defence:) )
As Mike & Mark knew each other, my track invariably came to Mark Bell’s attention.
The story goes, he was that annoyed with my sampling he said to Mike “Give me something of his to ruin / im revenge remixing one of HIS hit”
....a couple of weeks later Mike sends me THIS..... !!!!!
I’ll be honest. Since it coming into my posession i’ve never known what to do with it. It intimidated me.
I couldn’t release it. It was (borderlone, toungue in cheek) done out of spite so not to be celebrated.
But it was by Mark Bell. -- LFO --- A REAL Hero of mine .... Pioneers of the hypnotic groove --
Original UK Techno Pioneer. A gift. And then in 2014 Mark Bell ed away. & here we are in 2020.

Rebelscum. Reboted & Reborn.

Journey Of Force & Witch Hunt were 2 of Rebelscum’s bigger bombs
& Mark Bell touched them both.
We dedicate this project to you sir. Respect to THE - TRUE - CREATIOR.

D2 - NEGLECTED INTELLECT
(1st time released on vinyl)
E1 - PESTILENCE ETERNA
(1st time released on vinyl)
E2 - UNDEFINED
(The hidden track on the Doomsday Mechaniks CD some, still to this day, did not find.
1st time released on vinyl)
F1 - ZERO TOLERANCE
(1st time released on vinyl)
F2 - ACID VOODOO
(Appropriated) (Co Edited by Chris Maxey - whoever did the original acid track, we love you)
