This is a great album but unfortunately this "remixed and remastered" version is inferior to the original cut. I have a feeling the original drum samples weren't cleared because the beats sound very tinny and one-dimensional on this rerelease. The difference is noticeable. As another reviewer noted, the mastering is also very quiet. Still a great album, but it's not the definitive release sonically (IMO).

The mastering is a little too quiet. If you get one of these, be sure to take extra special care of it because 1) there's only 184 others out there and 2) any surface noise or scratches you accumulate will be twice as loud given the relatively high volume level required to listen to this album. Overall, it's still worth bearing considering the fact that this is unlikely to see another press.

Color is officially d as "clear purple", but I'm more inclined to call it "translucent magenta". ;-)
