The original by the O'Jays from 1978 is arguably better. It has less of a disco sound and a little more of a soulful edge. Not sure why it never became a hit. That said, Jackie Moore's version is good too.

Honest what a tune this is . Really is a beautiful tune . From 1979 . And it still sound fresh in 2019 . True gem of a track

Jackie Moore had a huge Disco hit with 1979's "This Time Baby". It has since gone on to become a huge Disco classic.
The song is in fact a cover version of the O'Jay's "This Time baby" song from the year before which wasn't a hit for them.
Jackie Moore began working in Philly with Phil Hurt and Bunny Sigler and later teamed up with Bobby Eli who produced
"This Time Baby." Since Bobby Eli was also producing Atlantic Starr at the time, he got them to play the rhythm tracks
for Jackie's material.
A Beautiful melody that stands, with an intro that is already a classic by itself. Orchestral but not symphonic and the good
break comes after the melody making it easy to mix.
The original 12 inch John Luongo Disco remix of Jackie Moore's "This Time Baby" shown here was going for big bucks.
Columbia Records reissued it in 1984 with a black and white picture of Jackie Moore on the sleeve to satisfy the demand.
Some might confuse Jackie Moore's sensual voice with Candi Staton.
The song latter would inspire the 2005 Dance radio and club hit "Love On My Mind" by the Freemasons feat. Amanda Wilson.
The second song on the flip is a completely different one, more romantic with a light-hearted note.
If you like Disco and you have been on another planet the last 20 years don't knowing about this song, just listen to it, you
won't be disappointed..
This is Disco at his best!

This release definitely deserves the 5/5 rating. The standout is "This Time Baby"... Jackie Moore has a beautiful voice, and she is backed up by a really stellar synth line and a pretty solid beat that still sounds fresh. Disco fans do not hesitate to pick this up if you see it!
