Just found out yesterday the vinyl version I have of this album is a counterfeit. Which by the way wasn't bad at all. But I thought I needed this one. So ordered it right away. It just arrived and after playing it I have to say all the positive comments are quite right. Great sounding. Makes the beautiful music more beautiful still.

I mean it’s Neil so amazing but this is a terrible pressing. Lots of distortion. It’s ok at low volume but it’s definitely there. I’m not sure why one would ever create an analog copy from a digital source. Just a bad idea.
-
Sounding inctedible. Been only 15/ 16 years old when this one has been releases, after the purchase of "Harvest". Loved it back then, and I still do. Nice to have it on vinyl, another magic job by Chris Bellman.
The music is such beautiful, got a bit more elders' wisdom than the original "Harvest", musically it is very close, If not equal, in quality. Must have Neil Young album. -
Edited one year agoJust picked one up on Amazon for $35 CDN. Hope it slows down these flippers trying to double their money. Been listening to the CD of this since it came out 25+ years ago, the album definitely sounds better even if digital. For my wife to mention this album sounds more realistic says something, she never comments even after major upgrades to the system. More ambient studio sound with vocals coming through like never before. Have many Neil Young albums but this one gets the most plays. What a bargain at $35. 😎
-
Something of notice: The labels here say manufactured in the Netherlands. The labels on the 2017 Europe pressing say made in the E.U.
-
It's hard to believe that this was only recorded in cd quality digitally. The sound is unbelievable. It sounds as good as any all analogue records I own, and the tunes are incredible
-
Edited 2 years agoPressing quality and mastering are excellent; even though this was probably cut from digital, it sounds much better than the CD version I have. The jacket is of high quality. I'm not much of a Neil Young fan but I cherish this pressing (his only record I own). The music on this album puts me in a sentimental mood and the recording/mastering is so good that you can listen to this at low volumes and not give up anything sonically. A very minor quibble is that the vocals can occasionally get sibilant.

-
I'm not getting any of the sibilance/distortion others have mentioned. For a digital source, this actually sounds quite good!
-
The sibilance/distortion on this press is such a buzz kill... I cut my lows and adjust my mids trying to combat this. I think I'm gonna get the old CD.
