While I find it rather unlistenable, it does generate a spooky atmosphere indeed. For a record from 1967 (!) on a well respected label such as Elektra, this is an anomaly. I wouldn't want it undone, and I'm happy it exists. If you're having a party and you want the last bunch of guests to go home, put this on! Satisfaction guaranteed!

While I can appreciate this LP as a artifact of it's time and understand it was influential in the developing UK psychedelic scene, particularly on Syd Barrett's guitar playing, as a listening experience this is just a bore. I bought an original of this several years ago and expected something quite mind blowing, but got modern 'serious' avant guard classical music with nothing to grab onto in the form of rhythm, melody or even mad freeform psychedelic happenings. I found it totally dull, formal and unmemorable and I would be amazed if anyone listened to this for fun. Opening the window and listening to street noise or even sitting in silence is much more rewarding.
