Altered Images – Pinky Blue

Well-packaged, in my opinion. Vinyls flat. Very little surface noise. Great sleeve. Only paid £15 for a sealed copy, so a bargain

Great band but Song Sung Blue the most teeth grindingly awful track ever!

Very good quality pressing and mix. Full sound and plenty of punch.

The album has some New Wave and even Post Punk rhythms that were common in early 80s in UK. "See Those Eyes" is my favourite track, after "Little Brown Head"... in general all the tracks are really good. The quality of this record is really good.

I have to say that although most 12" mixes were a waste of time , I rather like this take on I Could Be Happy. As Clare confirms at her shows, Rushent thought it one of his crowning achievements.

On some of the original lp’s there’s a sticker «12 inch vers. Of I could be Happy « well, it’s more of an instrumental like thing mostly .i ‘m glad i got the 7 inch. Typical M.Rushent production. Human League really got the best of him. that the early 80’s was the beginning of ext vers and remixes in pop music, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.

I've got mixed feelings about this reissue. On the plus side the sound is nice, the new label designs (although a necessity) look good, different inner sleeves for the two records, and there's a good selection of bonus tracks, including the US album mix of See Those Eyes. What's not so great is that two tracks were used on a different issue for a bonus 7" and omitted here. They could have easily fit on this bonus album and the idea of double dipping was perhaps unwise. Also the outer sleeve has the look of something printed at home on the cheap. The card stock is not smooth on the outside and the artwork just doesn't look right for it. Lots of paper fragments on the vinyl when taken out for the first time too. The shrink wrap is very tight and can cause the sleeve to bend around the vinyl.

Nearly excellent on content and design, but not quite there.

its a shame that this album was furnished with the godawful remix version of i could be happy,somewhat spoils the show

The version of Insects on this isn't the b-side of I Could Be Happy as it should be.
I think someone somewhere along the line when putting this release together has made a bit of a cock-up as the version on this is also the version that appears on the Happy Birthday album.
Bit of a shame as the re-recorded version on the b-side of I Could Be Happy is way better.
