Rush – Vapor Trails

Just got this today really hoping that we'd get a version that isn't overdriven and distorted. It's like they took the CD/digital master version of this and just straight pressed it to vinyl resulting is overdriven grooves and distorting so bad at times that I can't listen to it. It's not every song, but one of my favorites "Ghostrider" is unlistenable. It's really a shame because there is great material here from one of my favorite bands, but them decided that pushing masters as loud as possible on really all the albums after T4E really brings me down.

What happened to Rush and all their well-composed songs? This was utterly boring listen and uninspiring and lazy. All I thought of when seated in the middle of the speakers, was what to have for dinner the next couple of days.

Can finally have loud Rush without screaming Geddy. I’ll keep mine.

i have an original mix UK vinyl copy of this album, i think the remixed version could sound slightly clearer than the original from what i've heard on the net, it is not bad, certainly not unlistenable, i will get a remixed copy to compare it.
Just having compared this original vinyl with a cd copy of the remix i was surprised to find the remix very poor quality sound in comparison, i' m not sure if the sound issues only affected the cd, but saying that the original vinyl sounded clearer in the drums , guitar and voice but overall Geddy's bass was the worst culprit sounding too forward and overblown in the mix, apart from that a great sounding album!

This is the version to have, particularly if you don't like the remix that much. It's the original mix without the clipping (although still heavily compressed), remastered by Andy VanDette. You can still get it on Qobuz. I don't think the 24/96 version has any notable benefits over the CD quality version of the same mastering, though, since the original mix was a 16/44 file and is only "mastered in 24/96".

Made in a basement by a nobody, using the digital master from a CD. That's what it is unless you can prove otherwise. 😂

I just received my copy and am more than thrilled. This sounds incredible to me. I have 3 of these bootlegs now, and they're all flawless. Great job by whoever did these.

THIS SOUNDS SOOO PERFECT! Quiet Vinyl, loud mixing (duh), great vinyl press! The records are well protected in poly lined inner sleeves. What more could you want?

Excellent pressing!! Only thing disappointing is they didn’t make a gatefold for a double album

Can anyone confirm which mix this is - the original 2002 or the 2013 remix ??
