Atheist – Unquestionable Presence

The sound on this is punchy, dynamic and all around great! Get your hands on it if you can.

Big jump in production quality from their first album. The mastering sounds great on this release and the blue splatter record is beautiful. There is some noise in between tracks, not an issue during the music at all. Great value IMO.

Instrumentally it sounds absolutely divine featuring a very dynamic sound, more so than on streaming services I would say. The record is also pretty much whisper quiet, no noise or pops whatsoever. There are some negatives that need to be pointed out though.
The packaging is pretty terrible, no other way around it. On a more personal note, my copy arrived with a slightly damaged cover which is a shame.
There's a pretty significant misprint in the lyrics to the title track. For some reason one of the song's verses was simply replaced by one of the verses in "Mother Man".
Lastly, I do feel that the vocals in this mix are even more buried than they usually are. I know that the vocals in this album are supposed to sound that way but couple this fact with the vocalist's unusual vocal delivery and you'll find yourself scratching your head while trying to follow the lyrics for each song.
Still highly recommend purchasing this record. Who wouldn't want to own the pinnacle of progressive death metal on vinyl?

The labels on this picture looks kinda grey and pale. On my copy they are more clear blue. Don't think it is another version, but just to let you know that the pictures could be somewhat off color.

A masterpiece for sure. A fantastic job done by SOM with the reissue. This underrated belter has never sounded better!
