This is a really nice repress from Kniteforce! The tracks are amazing, obviously. I do love a coloured vinyl. White is just so fitting here. Thanks!!

It’s almost like they borrowed Doc’s NHS Disco Remix’s bass for The Journey. #subbass

According to an interview with Ramos in the May 1995 issue of Atmosphere magazine, this sold 8,000 copies upon release. Although, in an April 1995 interview with JRA magazine (an Australian ravezine) this figure is given as "almost up to 5,000 copies". Perhaps the larger figure included both the original and remixes, or perhaps it's just a misprint. Who knows, but either way it was called out as the label's best selling release!

The Slammin Vinyl record shop still stocked new copies in 96/97, so it's possible it sold more in total.

The original mix of Crowd Control sounded so fresh in 1993 when it was released. Whilst some of the elements in the track may seem cliched now, it shone out like a bright beacon of light at the time. In retrospect, I'd describe it as a prototype happy hardcore tune, helping to forge the split between jungle and hardcore. Slipmatt then perfectly remixed the track into a barrage of beautiful energy a year later. One of his best remixes of the era, when he was at the top of his game.

Pete Cannon's remix is a masterclass in where some producers come up short - it's as exciting to listen to for the first time as the original mixes once were. Rather than an obvious mash-up of the existing elements, he guides the spirit of the track in a totally new direction, with plenty of fresh samples, riffs and acid squeals. The layout and structure of his tracks are really wild too. At the same time it remains respectful, and extends some of the original ingredients in a smart way, including the Space Opera riff, hip-hop vocals and even a subtle nod to Slipmatt's pitch-bending Orbital stab in the build-up.

I was never as bigger fan of The Journey as many are (unfortunately), but I do really love what Luna-C has done here so I'll leave someone else to wax lyrical on that remix!

Great repress, the re-mastering mainly consists of a tweak in the hi mids, a bit turned down which is nice compared to the original, but also less warm. Choose what you prefer :-)

I wrote a pretty negative write up for the digi.

However, it's been re-tweaked for vinyl and becomes more tolerable because of such.

Will I still play this? For sure I feel they may be slight clipping from the pre master that's been doctored really well, could be just me.

Is it worth the 10 bucks? I'd say yeah.

Edit: slight change of thought to my original text.

With all due respect to kniteforce / luna c
The mastering is not good. I noticed clipping almost instantly. After viewing the wavform, to no surprise I saw the a track was a giant brick. It's not the most dynamic track to begin with, but some headroom should of been left. It should not be clipping. I'm also pretty sure I hear some vinyl clicks in there on the few little softer parts.

I'm not trying to be negative towards anybody, I hate writing stuff like this, I feel terrible, but I also feel it's only right to call these things out when I notice them.

I only have a handful of kniteforce releases, but they are all very dynamic and mastered pretty well. This is not common practice from them as far as I've seen.

The b side suffers these same issues but to a lesser extent.

Edit: reached out to chris about this, he said the vinyl itself has a alternate master
