PRESSING INFORMATION :

---1988---

(First) Test pressing :
Pressed by Soundwave.
All copies were made on black vinyl with blank white center labels. Each copy was hand stamped in black ink with "NO FOR ANSWER TEST PRESSING" on the center label of one side of the record and came housed in a white paper dust sleeve.

First pressing :
A total of 2,003 copies were pressed on black vinyl. There were actually two pressings made about a week apart from each other. The first pressing was 972 copies. The second pressing was 1,031 copies. So technically these are two separate pressings, but they are exactly the same and were made so close together, that they generally referred to all together as the first pressing. There is no way to tell them apart from each other. The side A center labels on this version are white with black text. The cover is a fold-over cover that opens up at the top and the inside of the covers are completely blank. All copies came with a double-sided folded insert containing band photos, lyrics, and information. Some copies came with an extra double-sided insert with a band photo, a photo of Dan's "POISON FREE" tattoo, and some words to go with the tattoo.

(Second) Test Pressing :
Pressed by Rainbo Records.
8 copies were made on black vinyl with Rainbo Records center labels and came housed in a white paper dust sleeve.

Second Pressing :
This is generally referred to as the "second pressing", although it was actually recut and pressed now for the first time by a completely different pressing plant and from new plates. Technically this would be the first pressing of this new version of the release, but no one seems to refer to it as that. 2,000 copies were pressed on black vinyl. The side A center labels on this version are silver with black text. All copies came with a double-sided folded insert containing band photos, lyrics, and information. The most common cover is a fold-over cover that looks exactly like the first pressing, except that it opens up from the bottom, instead of at the top. A large number of copies were given to the band without any covers, so they made their own covers for some of them. Some copies had covers made that were simply photocopies. Some copies were sold without any covers at all. No For An Answer did make quite a few special covers to sell on tour. They made 200 copies with "I Spy" logo covers. They also made 36 copies with photos of them playing live that were hand numbered on the dust sleeve.

Third Pressing :
Technically this is the second pressing of the second version of this release, but it is generally only referred to as the "third pressing". 2,000 copies were pressed on black vinyl. The side A center labels on this version are grey with black text. The cover is a fold-over cover that opens at the top and looks exactly like the first pressing, except now there are also things printed on the inside of the covers. All copies came with a double-sided folded insert containing band photos, lyrics, and information.

---1997 Reissue---

(Third) Test Pressing :
Pressed by Rainbo Records again, but new plates were also cut again.
4 copies were made on black vinyl and came housed in a white paper dust sleeve.

First Pressing :
This is sometimes referred to as the "fourth pressing" in keeping count with the previous pressings, although it was actually recut again and was pressed now for the first time from the third set of new plates. 1,000 copies were pressed on black vinyl. The center labels are completely different than any previous pressing. The covers still look very similar, but are now glued pocket sleeves. All copies included a double-sided insert that has been completely redesigned, but includes elements from both the inserts of the previous pressings. On this pressing, the center labels are reversed. In other words, Side A had the center label that was meant to be on Side B, and Side B had the center label that was meant to be on Side A.

Second Pressing :
This is sometimes referred to as the "fifth pressing" in keeping count with the previous pressings. 1,000 copies were pressed on black vinyl. The cover, insert, and center labels are exactly the same as the first pressing of the 1997 reissue. The center labels are on the correct sides of the record now on this pressing.

---2014 Repress---

Third Pressing :
This is sometimes referred to as the "sixth pressing" in keeping count with the previous pressings. 1,098 total copies were pressed. 548 of those copies were pressed on yellow opaque vinyl. 550 of those copies were pressed on grey marbled opaque vinyl. The cover, insert, and center labels are exactly the same as the both of the 1997 pressings.
