Edited 4 days agoVery subtle and absolutely fantastic album! All tracks are winners...
Some explain it as a step back compared with their earlier punkish garage work and as if "In The Woodland Of Weir" was tought to be different. This album looks and sounds pretty elaborate, it succeed to capture some hazy mystique vibe, everything seems just rightly placed, thick and dense atmosphere still not difficult to consume... cannot think of this album as of an unintended effort. Starting with the cover design and verses from E. A. Poe's dark poem Ulalume on back (the album title too is taken from those verses), to eerie underground vibe throughout (Cathedral & The Death Of Don Quixote among others are indispensable!), it's clear the band progressed into wider and opener musical/artistic realms.
A classic!

referencing In The Woodland Of Weir (CD, Compilation, Reissue, Remastered, Unofficial Release) KISCD4020
track list is not correct, at first is the LP (tracks 1-9) on this CD, than the Single-tracks (10-18) in another order. -
Seed of Love is an amazing track! The sample source when Buckwild laced O.C. for Point O Viewz from his debut album. Also used ten years later by Black Moon (Stay Real) and Jay-Z (Public Service Announcement).
