Prefab Sprout – Jordan: The Comeback

Almost perfect sounding version (as most of the '90s production); a pleasure to listen to: recommended!

Hype sticker says ‘from the original tapes’. Does this mean the original bass track on ‘Atlantis’ has been reinstated? (The 2019 remaster is a sequenced synth bass)

Wow, this sounds awesome! A huge improvement compared to the original 1990 single vinyl release, definitely a good idea to spread one hour of music into a double vinyl, it gains dynamic, clarity and punchiness (great bass!)
Gatefold cover is also beautiful, if you're a fan you need this.

US CDs have slightly more low-end than UK/Euro/Japan CDs, and sound all the better for it.

EDIT: I honestly think this is the best-sounding version of this album, and that includes the 2LP reissues, which sound to me like they somehow have a hole in the EQ. The US CDs are perfectly balanced in comparison.

Wow. This is a fantastic pressing of one of my favorite albums. Masterpiece. But what happened to Atlantis? The bass has more attack and sounds more upfront nearly synthetic. Did they boost the bass frequencies for this reissue or was it actually remixed?

I will gladly add this to my top five best sounding vinyl records.

Best pressing in my collection. That it's a desert island disc is a major bonus. Sublime masterpiece.

Wonderful album and a wonderful repress. This sounds so much richer than my old 1990 CD (and I played that to death back in the day). This is an album that has aged really well - very haunting in places.

They got it right with this one, a truly gorgeous remastered pressing on 180g double vinyl with a thick matte finish gatefold jacket. "The Ice Maiden" sounds amazing, that middle bridge part with the galloping bass line has never sounded this clear, rich, deep, open, immersive, etc...and that goes for every song on here. I think this is Prefab Sprout's masterpiece, it's one of my all time favorite albums, and I couldn't be happier with this package. My copy was purchased new and it's flawless, very quiet, and sounds quite lovely.

Exceptional reissue all around in my opinion, done the way it should have been back at time of release with double vinyl and gatefold cover.
Pristine flat vinyl play with no surface noise and crystal clear sound, being spread out into two records the songs have wider range, the bass is punchier and overall feel less compressed.
Artwork is beautiful, a joy to hold in your hands while listening to the stunning tracks playing in the background....
