This album meant a lot to me when it came out, it kind of re-wired my temporal lobes and still does.
We were used to listening to the CD back in the days, later I bought a vinyl repress (edit: this one and gave it away since the sound was disappointing.
Now with an excellent original copy in hands, I'm totally satisfied. Fluid, full-spectrum dynamics, electronic music made sounding completely organic. Most likely this is the most favorable version on vinyl for it couldn't be done better in my book.
      It's turning 30 in 4 weeks time, let's celebrate!

Amazing sound quality and effects. Such a great pressing and happy to have this.

Skipping on side one. But pressing is great. . . .

Has anyone else noticed some horrendous mixing at the end of Side 3 and 4? Sounds like loud pops, but is clearly part of the music?

I don’t the record well enough to know if others are like it

Comes in a single outer sleeve with two printed inner sleeves and a voucher. My copy is on red vinyl which is flat, heavy and sounds nice and dynamic.

              Very happy with it.

Just pulled my OG out for inspection & glad to say it has survived well.

Sadly I can't imagine anyone enjoying the same sort of revolution we had with this INCREDIBLE LP, with the duo's current material.

However back in the heady, hazy post acid house medley that the 90's threw back at us (for all our sins), 'Exit Planet Dust' was a godly record of divine content, the word genius could definitely be applied with confidence.

From the first appearances of 'Dust Brothers' mix- tapes (yes cassette's) in indie record stores, Tom & Ed had already cemented themselves in cult status. Their sound was steeped in broad knowledge & unlike anything heard consistently anywhere else. It was mad, unhinged & potent.

For me, this LP & all singles/B-sides subsequently released around it, and the pre 'Chems' releases as 'The Dust Brothers' are the cat's whiskers. A few highlights beyond with merit include the collabs with Q-Tip, and a song about dancing salmons ;-) but this reviewer is happy to firmly stop at 'Dig Your Own Hole'.

I’ve got this and the UK OG and I don’t hear much (if any) difference. I’m pretty happy. No pops, crackles or background noise. Just a fantastic album.

The cover of this album is like a sequel to that of Nelson Angelo E Joyce - Nelson Angelo E Joyce.

A typical MOV ( or Record Industry ) reissue - just a plain RIP OFF !
Go for the first vinyl edition by ALL means - it's worth it !!!
