The Gold Standard by which all other UK Rap is measured... the benchmark -

One of the very best examples of UK Hip Hop during its golden era of the late 80s and early 90s. Hardnoise were from South London and comprised of 4 DJs and 2 MCs. Untitled was first released as a self financed white label and was then picked up and released by Music of Life. This track is pure hardcore Hip Hop, no nonsense, no gimmicks, just high calibre beats, rhymes and cuts. This track is now considered legendary within UK Hip Hop circles and rightly so, with the immense relentless beat, TLP1 and Gemini both rhyming with distinctive style and the DJs furious cutting, this set the standard and still does. -

Banging old school UK hip hop. Break beat sampled by everyone in the rave scene/drum and bass. -

I think the instrumental had as much to do with the early hardcore breakbeat scene as any thing.played to death on fantasy fm -

Raw rattler from 1990, simple two break instrumental with a couple of flute / horn loops, some good militant style cutting and some of the dopest lyrical patterns ever thanks to TLP 1. Pity they never got to release an album at the time but I think music of life may have screwed them over a bit by allowing Daniele Davoli as Wood allen the use of the accapella for Co-Imperial which considering Hardnoise's pr at the time was minimal with very little info on promo sheets, hardly any interviews, no photos bar the overexposed photo on Serve tea... I can't think they had any involvement in a deal to lend their lyrics to a italo synth cheesefest.
