Very inconsistent press. Sides A and B are quite noisy, then C and D have some noise here and there, but are way better. Im general, not a great quality for a fantastic artist.

I received this as a Christmas gift and had the same surface noise problems as many others have mentioned. It was returned and I was hopeful I'd have better luck with the replacement. It arrived today and not only does it sound just as bad, but one of the discs is so poorly trimmed that a long string of vinyl is trailing from its edge.

Edited 11 months agoRevisited this LP after reading Faith, Hope, and Carnage. I love the stripped back versions of these songs. Just Nick and a piano. I bought this new when it came out. I ed it being a bit noisy, which is probably why I didn’t spend much time with it. But after an ultrasonic cleaning, it’s mostly quiet. A few pops a cracks in the first few seconds of side two. But otherwise a very pleasant listen.

Edited one year agoSame here: tried 2 copies, both very noisy and full of rhythmic pops and clicks which I would associate to poor pressing. Had to return them but I'll try again.

Just picked up a brand new, sealed copy of this and record one was filthy AF. Even after a good clean, its just about able. Record 2 was better, but not perfect. Pressing quality of this is pretty poor, one of the worst of any record I own. Which is sad as its chock full of beautiful tunes.

Guess I got unlucky. Returned mine because side C was a surface noise-fest. The other 3 sides were okay.

Just picked this up at Barnes and Noble and the first copy I got was awful. It had little scratches all over it and sounded like shit. It looked used so I returned it for another and that one was perfect except for a little spot at the beginning of side two that had clearly been scraped by some kind of machine at the very edge of the outside rim but it was overall pretty nice. Just a little noise there at that spot that wasn’t a dealbreaker. I wonder if the people at these pressing plants are just working their asses off trying to get the records out and get sloppy as a result.
