This is not a repress, but a completely different mastering, compared to the first CD releases by HIGH ROLLER RECORDS.

Cool sound. Maybe even better than original. Silent vinyl mass. Nice poligraphy and inserts.

Wow, that's what I call a mastering. I've never heard such a great remastered record. For the first time I was able to set the controls on the amplifier to 0 and had a perfect sound. Many companies with remastered recordings, but the only ones that are likely to do so are HRR. Patrick W. Engel is the king of masters. The cardboard of the cover is also stable, the vinyl is residue-free, has a perfect hole, does not crackle and is in a lined inlay. A lot of effort was put into the new edition of this disc. Very good work.

This remaster has much better EQ than the old SPV/Steamhammer Mad Butcher/Eternal Devastation CD. There is some compression and limiting applied but it's nothing like some of the awful remasters we get these days and sounds fine overall. The packaging is also the best I've seen for this CD. In of sound, I personally prefer the '98 Axe Killer version over this disc. Some folks will prefer this remaster though.

All Destruction early release are DMM cut, which made the sound quality not accurate to the original tapes. DMM wasn't a mature technique back on then, it captures more dynamic but make the sound distorted in some way. HRR version sounds better, especially for the first EP. Mastering engineer Patrick's most proud work ever done by him. The CD version is good with more comfortable EQ (remastered by another engineer), but it is compressed a little bit on dynamic range. Both HRR releases on CD and LP are highly recommended. The first press is not recommended considering the market isn't that healthy nowadays. Pay wise money on high quality re-releases.

The remaster makes the album so much better, the razor like guitar on the original production was a bit annoying, here the bass and drums are cranked way up and the guitar is sounding more precise and less annoyingly over-loud compared to Schmier vocals and bass and the drums. I'm liking that High Roller label a lot.

This may look SO good (the poster, 425gsm heavy cardboard cover, printed inner sleeve, blabla...), but this NEVER sounds like the original vinyl album. NEVER.
