Jimpster dub mix is ace. Vinyl release of these edits would have been awesome to get.

This, in its complete form, comes with an info sheet insert with a strictly rhythm heading and release information that looks like it came from a typewriter

'Generate Power' obviously uses the same Jocelyn Brown vocal sample as Snap! - The Power, but I've always thought that the mechanical sounding riff in 'Generate Power' is a rearranged sample of the same sound from 'The Power'. Anyone know if that is true or not?

[Edit: reversing the Snap sound, chopping it up a bit and changing the pitch gets pretty close, so I'm fairly sure that's where it came from.]

Coincidentally (or perhaps not!) the saxophone squiggle in this track is sampled from Chill Rob G ‎- Let The Words Flow (which Snap infamously sampled/copied themselves to make 'The Power'...)

My brand new copy of this 2007 digital remaster 12" has lots of pops and crackles on side B1 Generate Power (Instrumental) but the other tracks on the 12" are fine. Does anybody else have this problem?

One of the original Wild Pitch anthems and a coup by the then truly emerging Strictly Rhythm camp. Of a long line of early anthems and hits released by Strictly Rhythm that established their presence. This was probably the one that settled them in for the haul as a label to just buy; don't ask. Rather a difficult task with their huge number of weekly releases.
A record that set off a sound and rejuvinated a by then; something of a has been, DJ Pierre and welcomed him into the second generation of house with very open arms.
A record that signaled the arrival of a somewhat harder New York house sound and one of the likely sources for handbag house.

Underneath all of that. It's a clever yet, dead simple annoying as hell repetitive (i.e. the wild pitch sound) track that is drawn out over way too many minutes with a semi wailing diva sample which is snapped up from an earlier attempt at eastablishing the commercial club house sound which also became, largely. A gay anthem and part of the Jock Jam's canon of fodder.

If it's played. It's either a good fun night or the dj is off doing their business.

Generate Power is quite possibly the most amazing 1992 house record I've ever heard (not that I've heard them all by any means). It captures very well the uplifting care free vibes of the year. Perhaps even more amazing is that the vocals were ripped by UK 'Ardkore artists for even more hands in the air rush action.
