Cheap Trick – Dream Police

Classic album. The EQ is too hot on Zander’s vocal and midrange washed out. The bass and drums are solid without being overpowering. No space or stage to the music, doesn’t do the music justice.

A dreadful sounding edition with the polarity seemingly inverted but either way, avoid this.

Cheap Trick is a National Treasure!
They are the embodiment of American and British influenced Rock music. Full of riffs, hooks, and great vocals. The Dream Police is a fun record from beginning to end. Everyone who loves Rock music should listen to Cheap Trick!

This 24-bit remaster, coming 36 years after its debut, sounds great. The clarity, dynamics, and mix are perfect. There's no ear daggers or boomy bass to contend with. I can't find any faults at all.

My copy includes a picture flexi of “Oh Boy” (3:07) and “Oh Boy (Instrumental version), as well as one page sign up page for their Japanese fan club “Cheap Trick Hot Hot Company”!

My copy was a gift and it's a little scuffed on the record but the sleeve. Means this was well played by someone who took care of their records. The mix is great accept I would have brought the vocals a little more out.

"Dream Police" is the most perfect homage to The Kinks ever recorded. Very different sounding compared to other tracks. Great OG power pop.

Oh man, where to start with this. First, immediately there are significant pops from the start that last for several seconds. This "remaster" claims to have been done from the analog masters, which I really question. Whomever did the remastering did a horrible job. The highs are WAY too high and sit way up on top of everything else. The soundstage is non-existent. It sounds like everything was pasted in separately, so the mid-ranges are just washed away. The bass is NOT rich and warm like the original version. On the original pressing, everything rode on the bass and was dependent on it. On this version, everything in the middle is washed out and the low end is given a backseat. This just blares out at you and is difficult to listen to. I completely regret buying this "remaster". Someone desperately needs to remaster this properly and fix this abomination. It's so sad because this is one of only about 15 albums that I consider to be a 5 star album. Every song is amazing and this pressing just stinks. I would feel bad selling this to someone else, so it will likely get put not the wall as a display. Someone please do this amazing album justice.

Very good with exception of Gonna Raise Hell—way too long.

I love Cheap Trick! That being said, this may be what I would consider the definitive Cheap Trick album. Everything about it just seems and sounds right. It's an amazing sounding record.
