The problem will always be the same: Crydamoure and Roulé didn't make their tracks widely accessible like Blackjack. Blackjack released singles and compilations in vinyl and CD, and later they offered their music on digital sites. Crydamoure and Roulé NEVER did that. Crydamoure were supposed to release a box set of CD singles of all their tracks, but they later cancelled the whole thing. It's even worse with Roulé who never released officially 'Together' or the Bangalter remix of 'Rock Shock' by Roy Davis Jr. B doing so, they let the market wide open to other artists / labels, such as Bob Sinclar or Defected... and they gladly take it. No competition = monopole. That's why we got so much commercial, cheap vocal house out there instead. That being said, a lot of tracks from Blackjack are instrumental and we can appreciate more, I think, the technicality of sampling over the vocal stuff. Of course, there are a lot of boring tracks and a lack of concept, but anybody in love with disco house will find something here.
Now why 2 guys dressed as robots, backed by one of the biggest label on earth (EMI), never anticipated that and never cared is beyond my comprehension. And of course, they won't tell us why because they never give interviews. -
Another French House label of the 1990s, this one leaned more towards the sort of instrumental Disco house feel for the tracks, with artists like Sebastien Leger, Fafa Monteco, and Superfunk. There are a couple of gems on here, such as "Saturday" and "Girls of San Remo" by Fafa Monteco, or Sebastien Leger's "Tonight", but otherwise the label has a very mediocre feel, it's all strictly middle-of-the-road instrumental French House. The problem lies within the fact that the loops themselves aren't anything special. The production is great, but it's just not all there.
Not bad overall, but if you're looking for some REALLY good instrumental house, Crydamoure pretty much has you covered. If you've already exhausted all of Crydamoure, then you can take a look at some of the tracks on here. Otherwise, there's not much to find here.
