The American Recordings

Profile:

The last few recordings made before Johnny Cash's death. These albums are known mainly for Cash's cover's of more 'contemporary' music (over his usual choice of country classics) - including tracks originally performed by Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode and U2.

After Unchained (number 2), the albums became prefixed with "American:##" to split them from his other works.

Unearthed is a set also considered to be included in this series and contains a range of previously unreleased tracks.
