Formed in 1987 under the name The Jools Holland Big Band, Jools Holland And His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra are a British musical collective formed by the aforementioned pianist Live Performance', which was a recording from one of the 10 nights' where they performed at Queen's Hall in Edinburgh that same year.

In 2001 the band would release a series called 'Small World Big Band', which predominantly featured new recordings with a main focus on guest vocalists. The group can also often be found occasionally performing on the TV show 'Later... With Jools Holland'.
